Friday Harbor Labs Science Outreach Program is a unique science education program that brings exciting, inquiry-based and relevant environmental science into the elementary, middle and high school classrooms (K-12) of the San Juan Islands. We have developed a set of hands-on projects specifically designed to compliment and enhance the current science curriculum at local schools. All of the projects focus on involving students in the process of science – observing, asking questions, predicting, collecting data, analyzing data and making conclusions. We emphasize using the scientific method and how the data is relevant to other scientists.
